IT/Network Technician Oct.
2023-Present
- Provide network/technical support for 7,000 end devices, including Windows PC’s, chromebooks, printers, and projectors using Mojo Helpdesk for ticketing.
- Troubleshoot network issues under the guidance of the Network Supervisor. Help isolate issues related to DHCP and DNS. Re-configure devices set up on the wrong VLAN. Escalate more complex problems as needed.
- Configure and manage network hardware, including racking Dell servers and Cisco Catalyst switches, upgrade Ruckus Wireless Access Points, and run/terminate Ethernet cables.
- VoIP phone configuration. Configure devices in PBX console. Reassign extensions to new staff.
- Collaborate with other departments such as Special Ed to complete projects. Install accessibility apps for blind/deaf students. Install and set up apps for Engineering and Design student machines.
- Configure VLAN bridges as a solution to access our phone VLANs at remote sites. Our PBX-managed Adtran routers have a faulty configuration that do not allow us to access the phone VLAN unless we are on-site. With the bridges, we can remotely access phones and PA devices for configuration and management.
- Chromebook management and MDM configuration.
- Install and configure IP security cameras on our security VLAN, and then add them to our camera server. Configure permissions for cameras and camera view groups.
- Attend quarterly California IT in Education meetings to be better educated on the status of K-12 Edtech topics such as networking and security.
